Grading Criteria:

A Few Reminders Judges generally do NOT notify the participant regarding Tajwīd mistakes. Very often, participants are very close in their performance even when they are 1 or 2 positions apart from each other. Winning or losing in the competition does not necessarily equate to how well or not well a participant memorized the Qur'an The main goal is not to win, but to improve in your knowledge of Qur'an On the right is a layout of the general grading criteria the judges use during the competition. It is not comprehensive.

95% of Grading is based on Memorization & Tajwīd

Memorization Deductions:

Faltering, stopping, or suddenly going back to remember Going back more than 2 lines Mistakes whether corrected or not after being notified Long pause after the judge's recitation (more than 5 sec)

The remaining 5%:

Beauty of the voice and control over it

Main Rules:

This competition is open to only individuals living in Georgia except for Level 7 (The Whole Quran).
The whole quran is open to anyone in the US. (1 person per state)

There will be a preliminary round to assess memorization and Tajweed for those who register for Level 7 (The Whole Quran).

Participants who won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in last year’s competition cannot compete in the same or a lower category. Participation is only allowed in a higher category.

⁠Participants must not have won any national or international competitions previously.

The competition is memorization only and will not involve reading from a mushaf.

Eligible participants are expected to have memorized the entire category they have registered for and to adhere to the rules of Tajweed.

Registration is online only and is available from July 1, 2024 to September 1, 2024.

All winning positions are FINAL and are NON-NEGOTIABLE. Any participant who registers and participates must agree to the decisions made by the judges.

Participants must be on time to their scheduled times and there will be no makeup test.

An Imam or teacher is NOT allowed to participate.

Here are the 7 different levels for this Competition:
